The man who claimed to be a Shasta County Judge, a FBI agent and has already been to Napa State was scheduled for his preliminary hearing this morning.
The preliminary hearing was vacated. A change of plea is scheduled for April 11.
Preliminary hearing scheduled for James Pawlyk was continued to April 3 at the request of the defense. It was continued again and is scheduled for his morning.
The Public Defender's office is representing Pawlyk. Mr. Ben McLaughlin was present at arraignment. Ms. Joann Carter was present on February 26. Deputy Public Defender Brie Bennet is representing Pawlyk now.
Every court hearing, Pawlyk wants to tell the same story to his attorney. "What happened was...it is a long story."
Fortunately, on February 26, it was not an outburst in court but privately talking to his attorney.
The preliminary has been continued a few times.
Intervention for James Pawlyk was scheduled for March 22; it was continued to March 29 at the request of the defense.
Preliminary hearing was originally scheduled for Pawlyk for February 26. Attorneys were in discussion privately.
Pawlyk entered a 10 day time waiver on February 26 after his attorney made an oral motion to continue. Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees objected to the continuance. Judge John Feeney granted the motion.
Intervention was on March 8. Preliminary hearing had been scheduled for March 12.
