Defense requests motion to continue preliminary for Chad Smith

An intervention was scheduled on June 12 for Chad Smith, former restaurant owner and present owner of Humboldt Longboard, who is charged with 13 counts.

Count 1-9 are felonies and involve alleged sexual charges of sexual abuse involving two minor victims. Counts 10-13 are misdemeanors; disobeying a domestic relation order.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 15. Mr. Lee made an oral motion to continue. That motion will be heard tomorrow at 3 p.m. Smith was not brought down for intervention.
