Convicted molestor and sex offender Salvador Gomez resolves case before jury trial

 

I covered  convicted molestor and sex offender Savador Gomez's case since his arrest. I have been adding updates to the July 8, 2025 post.

On 11/3/26, Gomez entered a conditional plea to Count 1 PC 289 (a) (1) (c) forcible sexual penetration by a foreign object for an 10 year upper term in prison, admitted to aggravating factors, that the victim was vulnerable and he took advantage of a position of trust and has to register as a sex offender. Counts 2, 3, 4, 5 and special allegations for Count 1 and 2 dismissed by the People. 

The DA added additional counts for the jury trial but with the dismissals, they are moot. Gomez is ineligible for probation. He would be a fool to withdraw this plea deal.

Humboldt Superior Court Judge Lawrence Killoran took his plea. Sentencing is on 12/2. 

Senior Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor.  Deputy Public Defender Emery Welton is Gomez' attorney. 

Those who have followed me from the beginning know the DA will often resolve a case which avoids putting the victim through a trial and it guarantees a prison sentence. Ms. Timm's pleas always include sex offender registration.

Normally, I would have had this post done the same day. I no longer rush certain cases which can wait nor is it possible in a week with the Miranda's Rescue  Jerry Springer show and Humboldt criminals on steroids with several drive by shootings. My reporting is detailed with exclusives and now I proritize live reporting since I follow 40 or 50 court cases a day A plea with sentencing next month is not urgent.
