Yesterday, reports of gunshots fired in Arcata. Arcata Police Department located physical evidence two blocks away today. No reports yet of gunshot victims or injuries. HCSO assisted APD.
Arcata Police Department press release (issued 11/4/26)
On November 3rd, 2026 at about 1:44 AM, officers from the Arcata Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of H St for a report of gunshots heard. Officers canvassed the area and were unable to locate any physical evidence on scene.
On November 4th, 2026 at about 7:00 AM, officers located physical evidence of the gunshots in the roadway on the 800 block of H St, next to the Arcata Plaza.
Detectives from the Arcata Police Department and the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office temporarily closed the 800 block of H St while the area was processed for evidence.
At this time, there are no reports of any gunshot victims or injuries. The incident is currently under investigation.
