Courthouse Commons coming to the third floor of the Courthouse

 I have been suggesting this idea for years. The Grind has not been on the third floor of the Courthouse since August. Courthouse Commons managed by the County of Humboldt is expected to open in December 2026.

Vending machines and coffee are better, more affordable and more reliable than the Grind and previous Smokestack Cafe. The Grind charged extra 50 cents for half and half in coffee, was closed a lot and the prices were too high.

Since Jeannie left, that space which has cheap rent was mismanaged by every owner after her. Jeannie worked hard, had good food and she made every regular and customer feel special.

I like Gabi and have given her plenty of favorable publicity and I don't sugarcoat facts. She was told this privately by many and she refused to listen for months.

Customers have options. Certain business owners open up 5 or 6 places and then quality, customer service suffer and close.
