Jarred Wade Vaughan was booked on four charges. The DA has only charged him with two felonies. Arraignment took place this afternoon. Based on the charges, Judge Lawrence Killoran increased the bail amount which is now $150,000.
Count 1 is PC 287 (c) (2) (c) forcible oral copulation. Count 2 is PC 261 (a) (2) forcible rape of a minor.
Deputy District Attorney Jessica Watson appeared on the case for the People. Conflict Counsel appointed. OR bail hearing on 5/8; preliminary hearing on 5/14.
5/8/25: Criminal protective served; supervised release denied; bail remains as set.
5/14/25: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 6/25.
6/25/25: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 8/12 due to discovery received today and discussions regarding potential resolution.
8/12/25: Preliminary hearing continued to 9/19.
9/19/25: Preliminary hearing continued again by defense to 10/2. DA motion to file amended complaint granted.
10/21/25: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 11/7.
11/7/25: Preliminary hearing continued to 1/8/26.
