I have smart, regular readers and many who are very familiar with the Humboldt House of Cards and the Humboldt Superior Court cabal.
I received this tip today. I could have ignored it. I had some red flags. Judge April Van Dyke has been a Humboldt Superior Court Judge for a 4 months and a week. I checked out the two cases mentioned and Mr. Laurence Ross does represent one of the parties. I also know who the other attorneys are in these cases. There is no family matter or any case I could find in Humboldt Superior Court for Judge Van Dyke. So, I have no idea what this personal matter could be.
The only people who would have this inside information is someone inside the courthouse; more specifically someone who knows the daily goings on in family law. Judge Van Dyke disclosed so what's the issue? Two cases in which appropriate disclosure concerned this person to report it to the CJP?
Let's see how the CJP responds. And even if they look into it, let's see what the outcome is; if any of these "concerns" by one person. This person also mentioned Mr. Laurence Ross, a family law attorney.
Would this person who emailed me be the same attorney or connected to the attorney who tried to tell one of their clients "people are unhappy with Judge Van Dyke. Family law clients are always unhappy with whoever hears their cases. This was said with a bias by someone who wanted to diss Judge Van Dyke.
Only one Humboldt former judge was censured and can never seek judicial office in California and had to resign as a part of a deal with the CJP. That was Gregory Kreis. Only one person was the subject of many emails to me not the rare one email kvetching about other judges. Unfortunately for that attorney who badmouthed Judge Van Dyke or the people who bad mouth other judges, people in the community know me better and trust me. I am in court regularly. I look up cases and I can verify whether or not there is merit to these claims.
Many Humboldt insiders are pissed Judge Van Dyke defeated Gregory Kreis. Where was this concern when Gregory Kreis was still a judge and for years about no disclosures and conflicts? I don't recall getting an email from the same person who contacted me today while I was reporting in real time about Gregory Kreis information the Commission on Judicial Performance corroborated years later.
To the person who sent me this email today. Yes I am fair and objective but I don't like being used for an agenda. The comiment was written to goad me into publishing something with flimsy evidence. Some judges make disclosures often in Humboldt Superior Court and still hear cases. Judge Van Dyke made the disclosure on her own as have Judge Steven Steward, Judge Kelly Neel and Judge Kaleb Cockrum.
Do you have concern that Gregory Kreis's significant other works in self help and attends family court hearings? I have only seen him appear on criminal cases. I do not know if he has any family law cases but it is a matter of time since I find out myself if he is at the courthouse quite frequently these days.
Are you concerned that Gregory Kreis is being appointed on court cases in the same court he was formerly a judge and had to resign as a part of a deal with the CJP and now appears before his former colleagues. To even compare Kreis who made national headlines twice embarassing Humboldt and Judge Van Dyke is a joke.
Conflicts in Humboldt exist in every profession and in Humboldt Superior Court. Shall we go through every husband, wife, family member working just in Humboldt Superior Court? Then go through the same in the County? We don't even have to go through law enforcement, media or private business because there are conflicts of interest. Selectively applying them for an ulterior motive does not pass the smell test. To this person, why didn't you come to me or use your name? There are people who trust me and don't send me anonymous emails. Had you approached me in person or identified yourself for verification, I could have determined whether there was any bias or motive. I didn't post your email address did I? I trust no one in the Humboldt Superior Court Game of Thrones version. I have good reason.
