Last month, Joy Hostler was arrested for elder abuse, on the day of her arraignment, Hoopa Tribal Police arrested her again

8/6/25: Threes cases on calendar CR2500878 + CR2501116 + CR2501565. Hostler arraigned on the latest case CR2501565 which was filed today. Deputy DA Rebecca Rebecca Buckley-Stein appeared on the case for the People. Bail is $35,000. Retired Visiting Judge Ksenia Tsenin appointed the Public Defender. 8/21/25: Hostler had three cases on calendar.  CR2500878 + CR2501116 + CR2501565. Court minutes essentially have the same information. I included minutes from the case that has the most details. Judge Steven Steward granted supervised release. Hostler was released to a representative of K'ima:w Medical Center.

8/25 date was vacated. Trial setting and proof of compliance with SR terms scheduled for 9/24.

10/27/25: am no longer following this case. I doubt this diversion will last. She is a repeat offender and diversion has been a failure in California, especially with repeat offenders, as evidenced by the many examples repeatedly reported on the blog. If Hostler is arrested again or does not comply with supervised release, an update to this post will be added.

11/20/25: Another case of a repeat offender who failed diversion. Back in custody in less than a month.

Hostler was arrested by HCSO for PC 273.6(a) violating a protective order.
