The victim in this case was "institutionalized for medical treatment and was seriously disabled and medically incapacitated."

On 12/12/24, Gruetzmacher resolved his case with a plea to sexual battery. Count 1 was dismissed. On 1/23/25, Judge Lawrence Killoran sentenced Gruetzmacher to 60 hours community service, 90 days in jail with credit for 1 day served and two years of probation. A protective order was filed and served on him in court and his bail bond was exonerated. Commit to jail date is on 2/22/25.

Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer appeared on the case for Deputy DA Whitney Timm who is the prosecutor for the case. Deputy County Counsel Owen Tipps is Gruetzmacher's attorney.
