In less than 2 hours, these two have their excuses down pat

(this is when you are done getting your fix and move and stand to look like you are not doing anything)

(this is what you do when your farce is up and you want to prep for the I am just sitting here look)

I think it is a time to start a Fund the Police campaign. Most people have taken advantage of the low income, COVID related housing funds provided by the City of Eureka and are not on the streets. The recent defund the police protests have emboldened bums and addicts to hang out, do whatever they damn please, then mouth off.

If you had the choice of a roof over your head or to be on the streets and were not mentally ill,you wouldn't trespass; you wouldn't get rid of your "illegal" stuff by the time EPD responded and the first thing out of your mouth wouldn't be,"I am not on probation. Go ahead, call the police."

Instead of simply getting up and moving from private property all over town, these hardcore bums standard response is, "I am not doing anything." Pat answers provided to them by enablers whose ability to work, sleep or peace is not affected by these lazy, obnoxious bums and addicts.

These bums and addicts will not stop what they are doing because they want the police called. I wouldn't put it past some of these troublemakers creating these situations for an agenda. They have enablers who provide them money, food but will not help the working poor who struggle.

Sometimes rent goes up because the local landlords and property owners who maintain their local property have to fix damages caused by entitled bums and addicts.

The more homeless we have, the more grant funds. Lot easier than the County and cities encouraging private enterprise or managing money wisely.

These enabling excuses have been provided by those who profit from lawlessness and they could care less that Eureka has been overtaken by bums and addicts. And in Humboldt, it isn't just the government and the non profits cashing in from the unfortunate.

If the City of Eureka cared about COVID 19 or revenue generating businesses and law abiding citizens, they would seal off this alley and many others. The City of Eureka would hold property owners who encourage and ignore these bums to hang out by their filthy, unsecured ,unmaintained properties responsible.

The City of Eureka whines about not having revenue because they don't bother to generate it. The City ignores environmental hazards and code violations. And now wants another tax. No sales tax unless it only goes to police and fire and that has to be a legally documented.

DHHS and the City of Eureka get a lot of funds yet it is EPD getting people into recovery programs and informing them of resources. The police can only help those who want to change. I see people housed by Teen Challenge, Rescue Mission, Betty Chinn working; not begging. Both these people photographed are healthy and able.

All day long today, I didn't see a single person walking with a facial covering on the streets, unless they were in a business. Even then physical distancing is a joke. Today, a tweaker was flailing his hands in Starbucks, standing right where drinks were being made, not observing physical distancing and blocking the exit. If COVID 19 is so contagious, no one should be on the streets. No excuses.

People who aren't high or drunk can't get into the ER or have serious health conditions addressed because some junkie wants to detox for the nth time. Right now, doctors are not seeing people in person.

All the fancy, orange, run of the mill billboards in Eureka don't hide the eyesore Eureka is because of lack of leadership. You are in a budget bind; get rid of Eddy Alexander.

EPD responds to every call. Humboldt Bay Fire responds to every call. Let's have stats on how many responses and successful resolutions versus complaints and inquiries have been filed and addressed by Building and Planning or Code Enforcement. Do the same for every County Department and every department head. EPD and Humboldt Bay Fire doesn't ask if you are rich or poor.

Humboldt has cost me and a lot of people money and affected our income, peace of mind, safety, living conditions because of the Humboldt attitude, apathy and petty blacklisting. Outsiders and urban dwellers are moving to rural areas due to the pandemic. Time to adjust that insular, cliquey attitude because silencing of those who speak up against ineptitude and corruption will change. It is just a question of when.

Certain local media has been taking their advertisers for granted. Local government has done the same to their tax paying base. Pot dollars aren't as readily available. Every industry is hurting during this pandemic. Time to start looking at where money is being wasted.

Election season is coming up. What have incumbents or potential candidates done to earn your vote? No new blood; just the same agendas packaged with new faces.
