EPD responds to call about victim with gunshot wound on 5th street

EPD, Humboldt Bay Fire, City Ambulance respond to 232 5th Street at the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay Inn. Alleged victim with gunshot wound. Man has been taken to the hospital.
This is the same place where Clayton Lasinski led CHP on a chase from parking lot to floor, leaving to have EPD chase him through downtown Eureka.

On January 10, 2018, at about 9:25 p.m., the Eureka Police Department, Humboldt Bay Fire, and City Ambulance responded to a hotel room on the 200 block of W. 5^th St. for the report of a male that had been accidently shot in the leg.  

The male received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to the hospital for treatment.  

Based on the investigation and statements, it appears that out of the area contractors were drinking in their room when they began manipulating several firearms. 

One of the males pulled the trigger and accidently shot his coworker in the leg.  The involved parties were in legal possession of the firearms and the shooter is a CCW holder.
