Mckinleyville resident Andrew Barnes Jr arrested for alleged armed robbery in Arcata

On March 18th 2016, at approximately 5:44 am, an armed robbery occurred at the Alliance 76 gas station located in the 2200 block of Alliance Road in Arcata. Two masked men entered the store and brandished a handgun then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. APD Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The scene was processed for evidence and latent fingerprints were lifted from the cash register.

In July of 2016, APD investigators received the results of a latent fingerprint comparison from fingerprints lifted at the scene which had been submitted to the California Department of Justice for analysis. Barnes was booked by APD on the following fresh charges:

PC 211: Robbery

PC 182(a)(1): Conspiracy
