With Ms. Andrea Sullivan relocating, Jackson Parrott's new court appointed attorney is Gregory Kreis

 

I had previously reported that private attorney Ms. Andrea Sullivan is relocating to Southern California. 

She was one of the few private attorneys who regularly took court appointments and in serious cases. Thete was a directed verdict in convicted felon Jackson Parrott attempted murder, mayhem and torture case granted by Judge Kaleb Cockrum. Parrot still has to be sentenced. I had heard quite a few cases that Ms. Sullivan was appointed on would be going to Mr. Gregory Kreis. Yesterday, he was court appointed to represent Parrott. Setting of sentencing was continued again with three future dates scheduled for 5/15, 7/29 and 8/11.

5/15/25:  Setting of sentencing continued to 7/29.

7/29/25: In CR2403119C, CR2402575 and CR2303477, setting of sentencing was continued by defense to 8/1. Setting of sentencing is also scheduled for 8/11.

8/1/25: As it is with typical with Humboldt Superior Court, dates or types of hearing are changed last minute since the last post. On 8/1, instead of setting, there was a hearing on defense's petition for mental health diversion. The defense request was denied by Judge Steven Steward. That was the correct decision. Kreis requested that on 8/11 jury trial when the jury trial is scheduled to start "to deal with motions and not jurors."

8/11/25: In CR2403119C setting of sentencing Jackson Parrott which is consolidated with CR2402575 was continued to 8/12 to Courtroom 3  because Judge Kaleb Cockrum disqualified himself. Jury trial in CR2303477 continued to 8/12 no judge/no courtroom.

8/12/25: CR2403119C is consolidated with CR2402575. Sentencing is scheduled for 9/24. CR2303477 was scheduled for jury trial; instead Parrott entered a plea and a referral was sent to Probation for a pre-sentence report and credit calculation. Parrott is no bail status. Sentencing in this case is scheduled for 9/24.
