Suspended attorney Victor Campos fails to appear in court, bench warrant issued but held until the next hearing because defense said Campos is hospitalized

Suspended attorney Victor Campos failed to appear for his Readiness Conference and status of review of evidence in his drug case on 4/16. Bench warrant for $25,000 was issued by Judge Steven Steward and will be held until 4/24 at defense request because Campos is currently hospitalized. The hearing for Campos was continued and his co-defendant's case was set to coincide.

4/24/25: I saw Campos walking by himself on the 2nd floor hallway with a cane. Criminal proceedings suspended after defense declared doubt in Campos' case. The 4/28 jury trial was vacated. Dr. Mark Lamers was appointed to evaluate Campos. His report is due 5/29/25.
Cross' case was continued to 5/29 for trial setting. I heard from someone who knows both Campos and Cross for years and according to this source, Campos is unable to take care of himself, is homeless and living in a Betty Chinn shelter.
