Frank and Maxine Alves are parties in a civil lawsuit with allegations of financial elder abuse

I posted last week that Frank Alves was held to answer after his preliminary hearing in his forcible rape case. He was the caretaker of Jane Doe, a dependent adult. His wife Maxine Alves testified.

Today, a civil lawsuit filed in 2022 by Vern McCaughey against Randall, Ruth and Daniel McGaughey. Randall and Daniel are Vern's sons. Another defendant is Maxine Alves, Vern's stepdaughter and wife of Frank Alves. Mckinleyville trailer park is the property mentioned in the complaint. I have included a few pages from the original complaint.

The 2022 civil case was on calendar on 4/5 for an ex parte hearing to compel discovery. Judge April Van Dyke granted the request for discovery.

There is a Readiness Conference scheduled for 5/5 and jury trial for 5/19.

I am not going to list every document or what happened since 2022 nor am I following every hearing. There has been a cross complaint, demurrer and other documents filed. Frank and Jessie Alves were also listed on the online calendar with Maxine Alves.

This civil lawsuit is not something I am going to follow unless there is an impact or some relevancy to the criminal case.
