Michael Ryan Conlee Jr was arrested on April 8 by tge Arcata Police Department for PC 288 (a) lewd act with a minor. The DA has charged him with that felony. The alleged victim is a seven year old Jane Doe.
I was in court for Conlee's arraignment on April 10. Retired Judge Marilyn Miles set bail at $75,000. Deputy District Attorney Carolyn Schaffer appeared on the case for the People. Conflict Counsel's office was appointed. OR bail is scheduled for 4/14; preliminary hearing for 4/22.
4/14: Supervised release denied by Judge Lawrence Killoran; custody status changed to no bail; protective order served.
4/22/25: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 5/23.
