I reached out to both Humboldt County Registrar of Voters, Clerk and Recorder Juan Cervantes and Deputy District Attorney Roger Rees.
Mr. Rees has been open about his support for Israel and the Republican Party.
Mr. Cervantes is busy and has other priorities. The rest of us are equally busy. I sent an email yesterday to Mr. Cervantes and I followed up just now with a call.
"I never talked to Sage (Alexander) about this," said Mr. Cervantes. "We talked about the election process."
"Roger was very kind,"said Mr. Cervantes." He took off the hat. Roger had some questions about the election process and I took him around the office."
Mr. Rees did not respond by this morning. When I spoke with him again; Mr. Cervantes had already spoken to me.
Times-Standard and certain other local media are never held acccountable for their "errors" "hit pieces" and inaccurate reporting. I have previously written about it and given examples. Some of the public tries to hold them accountable but comments are a waste of time. The corporate owner of TS, the publisher and TS advertisers and subscribers should be embarassed that they support such blatant and inaccurate misinformation.
Mr. Rees and I do not agree on everything but he did not deserve this clickbait, misleading headline on one of the busiest, most historical days in U.S. history.
