One of Manila 5 picks up new 2024 case and pleads guilty as charged

(Godoy-
Standley)

Hector Godoy-Standley is one of the Manila 5 defendants. He was one of the first to resolve his case with a plea.

This link has details of his sentence.

After his sentence in the Manila 5 case, Godoy-Standley seemed to have turned his life around with steady employment in local retail and stable housing. I know Hector's mom just as an acquaintance in the community. She like many family members in court cases I have covered over 10 years needs to stop blaming others and stop making excuses for her son. There are many former defendants who have turned their lives around from their pasts despite it not being easy to do so while living in Humboldt.

I was surprised to see his name on the court calendar today. I couldn't attend the court hearing but saw them leaving after court.

Hector has a 2024 case with one charge of PC 22810, felon in possession of tear gas. I have included court documents from arraignment to sentencing. He resolved his case on 10/17/24 pleading guilty to the charge. The plea was for a condition of probation with a 180 day jail cap. Hector was sentenced today by Judge Lawrence Killoran to 60 days in jail and two years probation. Commit to jail date is 12/14/24.
