On Sunday, someone contacted me and said a friend's child was at the HSU party and said the fight was because of a cell phone.
I checked with Sgt. Brian Hoffman, who did not want to comment on an ongoing investigation. So, I did not print it, hoping APD would finish interviewing witnesses.
The victim's friend spoke in an exclusive interview with North Coast News Monday and revealed the above detail and claimed the attack was racially motivated. The family has been discussing potential investigation and consequences with the Times-Standard.
Now someone who could be a material witness sends an anonymous email to APD.
I had some other information I did not print but several people were at the party and are talking with other people so information is getting out in the community.
Today, after the booking photo was released it fit exactly what my source had relayed to me. People want to remain anonymous for safety reasons.
According to someone at the party, "Kyle kicked a female for a reason" that this person didn't know. "The victim along with 3 or 4 of his friends responded by jumping him to the point they were kicking him in the face, so Kyle took out a knife and started swinging in an attempt to stop them."
Then when the police did show up, according to this person, "the friends of the victim were being so out of control that the officers were having trouble giving the victim assistance and kept having to try to get the friends to move out of the way".
The information I have appears to be hinted at in this comment in a LOCO thread as well.
Oh wow thay sounds more like the truth by the looks of him
ReplyDeleteThank you John for always being willing to print the whole story.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment and support.
DeleteI wonder if the victim's pals can be prosecuted.
ReplyDeleteWhy would a white kids show up at an all black party? Maybe they were all looking for a phone with something on it? How long has this brotherhood been a group? Was Josiah the first President?
