Weed bust of 207 plants in excess of medical marijuana recommendation and unregistered property

On Thursday, June 30, 2016 at about 5:30 p.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on the 1200 block of Vernon Street in Eureka, CA for suspected butane honey oil (BHO) lab and a marijuana grow. The Humboldt County Drug Enforcement Unit served the search warrant on the pyroperty and discovered an operating BHO lab, two indoor marijuana grows, and an outdoor marijuana grow. Two-hundred and seven plants and one pound of processed marijuana were seized. The BHO lab equipment was seized along with 6.25 lbs of product, 17 lbs of marijuana trim/shake, 3.6 lbs of processed marijuana bud, 2.5 lbs of THC edibles, 23 cylindrical glass extraction tubes, digital scales, packaging materials, and sales documentation. No one was on scene. This case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
Both suspects were in possession of doctors recommendation for medicinal marijuana, however, the marijuana grow operation was out of compliance due to the number of plants. These suspects did not have records on file for this property being registered, nor having submitted an application to be in compliance with the County Commercial Medical Marijuana Land Use Ordinance.
