State Bar suspends Callie Buck's license; DA finally gets around to filing charges for 2023 attack on her husband, she now has 4 cases

Former local attorney Callie Buck already had one 2024 case. I posted about CR2400432 in February. At trial confirmation in that case, her deputy public defender asked to reset her jury trial scheduled for next week and for dates to coincide with her two other 2024 cases filed in May. Trial confirmation is on 7/31; jury trial on 8/12.

In CR2401593, Buck is charged with PC 417 (a) 1 exhibiting a deadly weapon and PC 591 unlawfully and maliciously damaging a power cord to an Apple computer. Again, the DA chose to charge Buck with misdemeanors. This complaint are the charges I first reported on in 2023 but it leaves out that the alleged victim is Buck's husband and the weapons used were a knife, bow and arrow.

In CR2401594, Buck is charged with Count 1 VC23152 (a) DUI, Count 2 VC 23152 (b) BAC above legal limit with two special allegations VC23577 (a) refusal of chemical test and VC 23578 BAC of 0.15% or more.

I also covered Michelle Smith's civil lawsuit against Buck. A case management conference is scheduled in that case for 8/19/24.

The California State Bar suspended Buck's license on 7/2 for failure to pay fees and she is not eligible to practice law in CA.

7/31: In  CR2400432, Callie Buck is charged with three counts in this DUI case. The 8/12 date was vacated. A plea has been agreed to according to defense and the case is scheduled for trial setting on 9/4. Buck has two other 2024 cases.
