Everett Spillard gets sentenced 15 years to life for molestation


Sentencing for convicted molestor Everett Spillard and ruling on defense motion for a new trial was scheduled for May 9.

Judge Dale Reinholtsen denied the motion for a new trial. Spillard was sentenced to 15 years to life for Count 10. He was also sentenced to 15 years to life for Count 11 and 12 but wll serve those sentences concurrently.

Besides citing case law that he used to make his decision, Judge Reinholtsen said that Jane Doe #2 was a very credible witness and she was very consistent in what she said at her CAST interview and then a year later, when she testified in court.

Victim impact statements were made by Jane Doe #2's mother and her sister.

Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is prosecuting the case. Deputy Conflict Counsel David Lee is representing Spillard.
