$85,000 bail set for wanted felon who was arrested today

On Sunday, June 5, 2016, at about 10 p.m., Humboldt County Deputy Sheriffs responded to Bear River Casino in Loleta to a report of wanted felon, 29 year old Michael Lee Russell, currently at the casino. Upon arrival, deputies contacted Russell inside the casino, and a foot pursuit ensued. Russell damaged one of the casino doors as he fled from deputies. Russell was caught and arrested by deputies at Brenard and Carroll Rd. No one was injured during the incident.
Russell was taken to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for his violation of probation warrant, evading peace officers and reckless driving warrant, possession of a controlled substance, violation of probation, resisting arrest, and vandalism. His bail was set at $85,000.
