Defense to file 995 motion regarding Count 1 in convicted human trafficker case


Today, at further trial confirmation for convicted human trafficker David Anderson, yet, another trial confirmation was scheduled for August 12.

Jury trial  scheduled for August 17 is up in the air.

Mr. Michael Acosta is Anderson's attorney. Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads is the prosecutor for the case.

Mr. Acosta wanted to meet with Anderson to discuss a limited time waiver and a motion to continue to "prep" for the case.

Today, Mr. Acosta said he plans to file a 995 motion regarding Court 1 and he plans to file a motion to continue.

Ms. Eads requested information before the written motion to continue so she could discuss with the alleged victim, before the next court date.

Anderson is charged in Count 1 with PC 236.1 (c) 2, human sex trafficking  trafficking of a minor by force or violence.  Special allegation of great bodily injury during the commission of the crime and a prior conviction for human trafficking, PC 236.1 (4) (c)

Count 2 and 3 are Rape by force/violence/duress PC 261(a) (2)

Count 4 is forcible sodomy of a minor, PC 286 (c) (2)

Count 5 Forcible oral copulation of a minor, PC 288 (a) (c) (2)
