The morning of May 9, supporters for Faith and Kiya will pray outside the courthouse ; their presence is also a message : no more continuances

On July 12, 2016, a hit and run ended Faith Tsarnas' life. Kiya Kitchen succumbed to her injuries on the morning of July 13, 2016.

Kiya Kitchen's mother Marci Kitchen is charged with the death of both girls.

There have been delays after delays and a jury trial date is yet to be set.

On the morning of May 9, supporters for Faith and Kiya organized by Carol Paris. Another family friend Anita Tavernier, a close family friend of Mark and Stephanie Baldwin, Faith Tsarnas' stepfather and mother is assisting in getting the word out regarding community support and actions.

People will gather outside the courthouse and pray for or if they prefer, just stand and offer support in silence.

Many in the community are outraged. They echo the feelings expressed by Mark Baldwin, whose letter was read in court on April 30.

The community members, family and friends of both families want the trial date set, no more continuances and this is one public message they want Judge Kaleb Cockrum and the Humboldt Superior Court to hear.

If there are any more delays, many people have expressed an interest in starting a petition.

On May 9, a trial date is expected to be set for Marci Kitchen's jury trial. Judge Kaleb Cockrum told Deputy District Attorney Stacey Eads and Conflict Counsel Supervising Attorney Meagan O'Connell that he wants to set a deadline for attorneys to submit motions in limine and jury questionnaires.

Three possible dates were given to both attorneys to check witness availability and expert witness schedules: July 9, July 16 and August 20.

  1. Justice is huge square blocks of stone that ever so slowly come slaming down in judgement.
We have to be patient and let things play out It sucks but it's all we have other than Lynch Mobs.
