Edward Brinson who was arrested by Eureka Police Department this Saturday had an outstanding warrant because he failed to appear for his 2022 case. I have covered him.before. He has a 2024 case and a 2022 case.
He yelled at his former attorney, Tim Gray in front of people in the hallway. His current attorney is Ms. Andrea Sullivan. I stopped following his cases regularly. On 7/12, his 2024 case was on calendar for setting for preliminary hearing It was continued by stipulation to 7/19 for setting of preliminary hearing or resolution. Deputy District Attorney Ian Harris appeared on the case for the People. Trial setting in his 2022 case was also continued to 7/19.
EPD issued this press release today.
"On Saturday, June 8, 2024, Eureka Police Dept. Patrol Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the 4000 block of Broadway. As a result of the stop, 36-year-old Edward Brinson was placed under arrest for a felony warrant and a search warrant was authored for his vehicle. The search resulted in locating nine firearms and various stolen property including vintage US Currency Notes and Coins. The property is valued at approximately $5000.00. Brinson was booked for his felony warrant, a felon being in possession of a firearm(s), and for possessing stolen property.
7/19: Preliminary in 2024 case scheduled for 8/28. Trial setting in 2022 case continued to same date.
8/28: Preliminary hearing continued to 8/29 at defense request. Mr. Ben Okin specially appeared for Ms. Andrea Sullivan. Deputy DA Brandon Boozari is the prosecutor on this case. Attorneys say matter likely to resolve on 8/29.
