"It is in here for six days then it goes to the dump, I have no where to go"

I spoke with three tenants of 216 street; one who I know from working at a local deli since 2003. They agreed to let me take photos of their U-haul.
"It is in here for six days then it goes to the dump, I have no where to go"

They said Floyd Squires told them they had a few days and then today, with a 24 notice from City of Eureka, they had to be out.

Three of them putting what they could in a uhaul, the rest of their belongings left behind. "I guess the homeless can ravage through my belongings," one tenant told me.

When I spoke with Floyd Squires earlier, he expressed concerns about his tenants having no place to go.

The one tenant had told me way back in 2003 that Floyd Squires provided her a place she could afford. She said not all his tenants tear the place up. " He fixes stuff and some trash it."

DHHS was on scene but the housing coordinator was not around. One man said he was just the truck driver if anyone needed help.

  1. It would be interesting to see the planning departments scheduled development projects.
