20 year old Seamus Charles Clancy was arrested by Arcata Police Department yesterday on a Ramey warrant and booked PC 288.4(b) meeting with a minor for lewd purposes; PC 288.3 (a) contacting a minor to commit a felony , PC 261.5(c) unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and PC 261(a)(2) forcible rape. Bail at booking is $1 million, 500 thousand.
I did a google search but without verification from law enforcement, court records or a verifiable source; at this time, I am not mentioning any other possible connection about Clancy that is Humbolt related or of interest.
11/26/25: DA filed charges today; Clancy was arraigned. Clancy has retained Ms. Andrea Sullivan. Humboldt County Deputy District Attorney Victoria Reierstad appeared on the case for arraignment. OR bail on 12/2; preliminary hearing on 1/14/26.
12/2/25: After hearing from attorneys and victim impact statements from Jane Doe and her mother, Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Christopher Wilson denied OR and supervised release; custody status changed to no bail.
1/14/26: Deputy DA Carolyn Schaffer did the preliminary hearing for the People. EPD Officer Travis Gardner and Senior Detective Amber Coseti testified. After the preliminary hearing, Clancy held to answer as charged by Retired Humboldt Superior Court Judge Chris Wilson. Arraignment on information on 1/29/26. Custodial status will be addressed on that date.
