"False accusations" and "baseless aka fraudelent lawcase"

Cornelius Lowenstein posted two videos recently about court and Eureka Councilmember Kim Bergel's request for a restraining order against him.

In this video, he mentions "false accusations" and refers to the "baseless aka fraudelent lawcase."

On his other Facebook page, he asks where did Kim Bergel's facebook pages go? I could not find a Facebook page for her or any Council related page. So did Kim Bergel take down both Facebook pages or did she block anyone who disagrees with her?

Why has other media refused to call her out on her refusal to listen to all her constituents' concerns? Why haven't they asked her what has she or this current Council specifically done to address homelessness?  It is a lot easier to a fluff piece on Kim Bergel spending the night to see what a homeless person goes through.

Kim Bergel will never understand what it to be economically or socially vulnerable in Humboldt or a be an "outsider" challenging the Humboldt status quo because she has connections in this community and privilege. Kim Bergel has no idea what it is like to struggle daily or keep a roof over your head or the challenges of running a small business in Humboldt.

These challenges are not limited to Cornelius Lowenstein or any one individual. These issues will remain whether Cornelius Lowenstein or anyone else stays in Humboldt or leaves because they have been caused by decades of failed leadership to speak up for the average person and small businesses, lack of accountability by most media; especially the media outlets around  for decades that look the other way when convenient, lack of action by most with power and money to hold elected officials and themselves responsible for economic and quality of life issues facing Humboldt and apathy by most of the public.

Most reprehensible are those who misdirect their anger on social media for their miserable lives and lash out at anyone they can bully.  Most of these people fuel anger and divisiveness in the community and are the biggest local gossips; the ones who harass and silence their crtics by spreading misinformation and do nothing to bring about positive change in Humboldt County.

Does Kim Bergel think she is the only one in Humboldt who has been harrassed or had opinions against her expressed on social media and online?

The right may have their share of the ignorant  but it is the sanctimonious liberal local media and many on the local Ieft that regularly and conveniently ignore the immigrant bashing, sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic comments when it is convenient to silence truth and any critic. Despite my calling this out several times on this blog, this ugliness in Humboldt is present on Facebook pages, on anonymous blogs, on sites that allow unmoderated comments with a majority of them being anonymous "regulars" making ton of comments.

Strong people dont play the victim card, they are too busy surviving and being productive despite the toxic attacks directed at them.

Instead of this lawsuit, Kim  Bergel could have shown actual leadership and convened a meeting at Eureka City Hall where a professional facilitator could teach people to engage in respectful dialogue with people who dont share similar views.

The next Eureka City Council meeting should be interesting. If this request for restraining order against Cornelius Lowenstein is not about shutting down free speech,  the actions of Kim Bergel and her fellow Council members can settle that issue before the next court date on March 19.
