Film Liaisons In California Statewide (FLICS) – the coalition of 42 regional
film offices working together to enhance California’s status as the film/TV
production capital -- has announced its new leadership team for 2016. The new
FLICS board includes:
·
President: Cassandra Hesseltine (Humboldt-Del
Norte Film Commissioner)
·
Vice-President: Geoff Alexander (Santa Barbara
Film Commissioner)
·
Secretary: Alicia Vennos (Mono Film Commissioner)
·
Treasurer: Tasha Day (Long Beach Film
Commissioner)
·
Immediate Past President: Janice Arrington (Orange
County Film Commissioner)
After playing a key role advocating passage of California’s expanded film
and TV tax credit program, FLICS and its 2016 leadership team are focused on
finding new ways to ensure California remains the first and best choice for
production.
“We fought hard to expand California’s tax credit program, and we’re now
able to focus on our core mission of helping the production industry access
everything it needs here at home,” said newly-elected FLICS President Cassandra
Hesseltine. “FLICS is the industry’s one-stop resource for connecting with film
commissions across the state.”
FLICS was created to heighten the level of professionalism and visibility
of California’s regional film offices by developing quality standards,
guidelines, education and marketing resources. Key initiatives for 2016 include
development of new technology platforms that streamline how the production
industry finds/secures locations and works with local jurisdictions.
“I am proud to carry on the tradition of FLICS and help grow our
organization into the future,” added Hesseltine. “It’s an honor to be selected
by my peers for this position.”
