Great food, friendly service, Humboldt Soup Company's Christine Silva scores another win with Sixth and E

I was the first to report on Humboldt Soup Company last year when it was under construction. In just a year, owner Christine Silva has opened her second eatery. Always great to see a local owner and business succeed and grow.

Sixth and E staffers Meegan and Alyssa took a break from serving customers to give me the tour and suggestions on the menu.

In addition to traditional toppings on burgers, Sixth and E offers choices such as The Works with peppered bacon, cheddar, fried egg, avocado spread and habanero sauce, a lamb burger, fried zucchini and fried jalapenos as sides, pastas, salads and house specialties such as a fried oyster BLT.

Tasty healthy signature food, friendly service at Humboldt Soup Company drive thru opens Monday

I did a post on Humboldt Soup Company back on September 19. The doors opened in November. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Christine Silver, the executive chef, behind the signature soups, sandwiches and more. She remembered my post.

I tried the chicken curry salad sandwich. The raisins, vegetables on fresh bread accentuate the subtle curry flavor. Fresh, healthy food. You can read the menu on the photo below. Today's local bowl is ground turkey with couscous and spices.

The drive thru opens Monday. They are located at 1019 Mrytle, old location of KFC. Check out their facebook page for more info. They just opened this November and I just checked, they have 1,167 likes.

First KFC, then Church's, now it's home to Humboldt Soup Company which offers biodegradable packaging and healthy food

The opening is supposed to be on Nov 1, according to their Facebook page. The 603 E Street location will open later as the E Street Cafe.  Soups, sandwiches and signature dishes and a drive-thru!

Just minor details like Design Review Committee and Health Department inspections standing between us and another new  Humboldt entrepreneur!

I walk past the Myrtle location every day on my way to work and it is nice to see some productive activity.
