With a bench warrant already out, failing to appear for his sentencing, now busted for meth possession

Bailey Perry wins the title of dumbest criminal of 2015. I have been keeping an eye on his cases and will have another post later on his previous cases.

This guy was represented by Conflict Counsel's Kaleb Cockrum. Perry turned down a plea deal last minute, hired private attorney Kathleen Bryson and months later accepted the exact same plea deal.

After Ms. Bryson vigorously advocated for Perry to be released before sentencing he failed to show up. 7/22-Perry Bailey, Failure to appear bench warrant held $50,000, 7/23 –Same bench warrant issued. He already had a bench warrant out yesterday for PC667.5(b), HS11378, PC3455(a), now this bust.

EPD Press Release:

On 10/20/15 at about 10:33 p.m., An Officer with the Eureka Police Department conducted a vehicle investigation on a parked Nissan sedan near 6th and N Streets after observing the occupants acting suspiciously.

The Officer recognized the passenger as Perry Bailey, 29 of Eureka, from previous law enforcement contacts.  Bailey attempted to claim he was his brother, as he’s done to the same Officer in the past.   Bailey was ultimately identified by his tattoos.  The driver was identified as Sara Dorey, 21 of Eureka.

On the center console, the Officer saw a paper plate covered in tin foil and initially thought it contained tacos.  Upon further investigation, it was determined the plate contained a large amount of Methamphetamine.  In total, Officers located over 3.6 ounces of Methamphetamine in the car.

Bailey and Dorey were arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for possession of Methamphetamine for sales and transportation of Methamphetamine.  Bailey was also booked on probation violations and outstanding warrants for drug possession.
