I've been investigating the opperations of the city of arcata... largely due to a couple of very strange things... 1 having to do with the demo of the LDS church, when I was on the HDRC.. and another about connecting to the existing sewer... which Arcata staff thinks can be used as a source to pay staff salaries... Long story, someone should publish as this is an issue about Humboldt Bay water quality with the state.. (state asked me to help, or offered to help...).. anytime... I have a file box full of documents... The short story is, can a lateral to an existing sewer, 10", 4" pipe cost in excess of 91,000??? When the law requires you to connect?... Now Arcata is discussing how they are going to repair and connect all these folk... frankly staff is not competent, and the staff does not get equal protection under the law... at al... The CA AG recommends citizens review local budgets and the costs of local lawsuits against city... When I asked for this info, Arcata said No!... It's a secret... well, its not.. and every complaint I have had against city has been supported by CC, or state agencies... It's Arcata... not me, not us. Peter does some good work.. Gallegos was before me, but I think he was elected over the logging of old growth???? Don't know... I know what has been going on here last few years is to exclude the public and conceal actions... I KNOW you are aginst all that... So if you want to hear an interesting story about a boring topic.. (sewers)... I'm your man
