Jason Omholt stipulates to victim restitution in new misdemeanor case; will he finally serve his 10 year prison sentence on plea deal?

Jason Omholt's misdemeanor jury trial was scheduled to begin this week based on availability of a courtroom. This morning, he  stipulated to paying the victims restitution, according to Deputy District Attorney Whitney Barnes. There is a disposition and reset hearing in two weeks since he has pending charges of disorderly conduct, peeking into an inhabitated building; vandalism less than $400, obstruct/resisting a public officer, assault, battery and possession of a narcotic controlled substance.

This new case is based on Omholt committing a new crime while out on sentencing on previous charges he had plead to.

In the past it was stated in court that the People were going to dismiss the misdemeanor case if he agreed to restitution in this case since Omholt is going to prison for ten years on other charges. But got to wait and see until the next court date if that happens. The trial estimate for this new misdemeanor is a week.

He won't leave for prison until this new case is resolved and in the meantime continue to add credits to time served. Would also be cost effective to take this new case to trial now?

Read the post on the last court hearing and then this link to the detailed saga of Omholt's crimes that led to the 10 year offer. johnchiv.blogspot.com/2015/06/jason-omholt-throws-hissy-fit-instead.html

Jason Omholt throws a hissy fit, instead of paying a small fine, he will go to jury trial in yet another case

Jason Omholt wins Humboldt County's dumbest criminal award. He was just sentenced 10 years in prison according to a plea deal. Considering the number of his cases, that was a gift.

He had a new misdemeanor case in which he had to pay restitution to two victims for $170. He had threatened that he would not do that if he did not get a chance to hire a private lawyer to look over his plea deal. He was given that chance.

He couldnt hire and pay a private attorney and instead of accepting responsibility, he threw a hissy fit, and now the People are taking that case to jury trial on July 6. Trial assignment is July 2.

If he cannot pay $170, how does he plan to pay for his upcoming alleged nuptials? Does he expect tbe taxpayers to foot that bill too, in addition to pay for his legal fees, room and board in jail, now prison and the damage his criminal acts wreaked on the community.
