Estelle Fennel versus Glenn "Bud" Rogers?

Just checked with Humboldt County Election office this morning and right now.

Rex Bohn is running unopposed. Glen "Bud" Rogers has declared his candidacy for the Second District to run against current Supervisor Estelle Fennell.

Third District gets until next Friday, an extra week, because the incumbent Supervisor Mark Lovelace is not running for re-election.

The information on smart voter for Supervisor Fennell is from 2012.

Rogers ran in 2004 unsuccessfully against Supervisor Roger Rodoni who won over Rogers and two other candidates with a majority of 57% plus. Rogers got the least amount of votes. According to a 2013 article in the TS, Rogers was an employee of Whitethorn Construction at that time. The present website has no information on ownership or employees.

Land Use
Land use policies should be based, not only on the obvious fact of population grown, but also in accommodating small business development siting needs, protecting environmental quality and--most of all--that these policies reflect what will be for the common good in the long run.
Economic Growth
We simply must create a more nurturing environment for small businesses to flourish. Cottage industries, artist entrepreneurs, service industries can all be helped through permit facilitation, incubator facilities and access to micro-loan financing, to give some examples.
Liquified Natural Gas Facility
If there is an earthquake--the likes of which visit our area every 10,000 years or so--the devastation will be great enough without adding to it the giant firestorm that results from the ignition of a gas cloud resulting from a rupture in an LNG storage tank.
