Just spoke with Sheriff Mike Downey. "It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of Humboldt County as Sheriff and as a member of the Humboldt County Sheriff's office. I look forward to the future and feel the office will run extremely well after my depature."
Supervisor Rex Bohn told me, "I supported Mike when he first ran. He has always been one of my supporters. I think Mike has represented the people of Humboldt County very well and he has set up the office for the future with great leadership and department."
Supervisor Bohn commended Sheriff Downey on his implementation of Measure Z. "I fully expect him to recommend Undersheriff Billy Honsal to serve out the remainder of his term and I support that decision."

Does that mean Honsel is moving up
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope so.
ReplyDeleteMe too
ReplyDeleteNo, I heard it first on the Channel 3 news last night.
ReplyDeleteWell, Fred that does not change the fact that I published it first before the press release, before anyone else. In fact, I contacted both tv station reporters before the press release came out. It isn't the first time I have published something first and won't be the last.
ReplyDeleteThat's Bulls hit because I read this right here early in the day and the news didn't come on till the evening
ReplyDeleteThat's because unlike Fred, R, you know where to get the news. Thanks for backing me up.
