Peter Hannaford to most people was an American business consultant and author and a political consultant to former California Governor and former U.S. President Ronald W. Reagan.
I got to know Peter in the last couple of years through the local Republican party. I was honored to sit next to him and his wife, Irene at the Republican Dinner this year.
Peter was my hero, an inspiration, a role model and a brother in Christ. A gentle, loving and humble man.
Yesterday, he was meeting with people at Eureka Books during Arts Alive. I have not gone out during Arts Alive for a few months but yesterday, I felt strongly about visiting Peter.
I walked in and Peter immediately acknowledged me, shook my hand and we chatted. There were people waiting to talk with him so I did not stay long.
I just found out we lost him last night.
I am in shock, as are others who knew him. This is the best I can come up with right now. Others knew him better than me; I feel fortunate to have known him at all.
Rest in peace with Christ, Peter.
