Sergio Madrone was arrested by Eureka Police Department yesterday for PC 286( b)(1) sodomy with a minor and PC 415 (2) disturbing the peace. The jail log lists both charges for the 2025 arrest as new and they could be but sometimes the jail log can be inaccurate.
I reported on Madrone's arrest by EPD in September 2024 for PC 286(b)(1) sodomy with a minor. First, Judge Kaleb Cockrum reduced Sergio Madrone's bail. Then, Judge Cockrum granted Sergio Madrone supervised release. Sergio Madrone's mother Amber Madrone was at the OR bail hearing. The last update I did on that 2024 case was on 1/22/25 about a pre plea diversion. There was yet another continuance to 2/19/25 for setting of preliminary hearing and receipt of PC1001.20 report.
2/19 /25: No RCRC report, defense has received a letter indicating that Madrone is not eligible. Preliminary hearing is on 3/27.
3/27/25: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 5/14 because assigned attorney is in trial.
5/14/25: Preliminary hearing continued by defense to 5/30 for setting of prelim. Defense says Madrone maybe eligible for diversion and working on resolution.
5/30/25: Preliminary continued by stipulation to 6/6.
6/6/25: Setting of preliminary hearing continued by defense to 7/11; possible resolution.
7/11/25: Setting of preliminary hearing continued again by defense to 8/12 for possible resolution.
8/12/25: Setting of preliminary hearing continued for the third time to 9/4 by stipulation for the same reason which is resolution being discussed.
9/4/25: Setting of preliminary hearing continued for the fourth time to 9/24.
