Child abduction suspect Peter Thompson resolves his case before jury trial with a plea and conviction for violating a court order

(I will replace it with a better photo from HCSO which I have requested)

Yesterday, child abduction suspect Peter Thompson's jury trial was supposed to start; instead he entered a plea and was sentenced by Judge Cockrum.

Deputy District Attorney Whitney Timm is the prosecutor for this case. Deputy Public Defender David Celli is Thompson's attorney. Since Ms. Timm is in trial, Deputy DA Carolyn Schaffer appeared on the case yesterday.

People added a Count 2 PC 166 (a) (4) violating a court order as a midemeanor. Thompson waived some custody credits. Hard to read the number in the court minutes so you can look for yourself. Count 1 was dismissed. Thompson was placed on one year of probation. Jail time imposed was considered served so he will not serve any more time in custody and was ordered released.

I have regularly been covering his case since I reported on Thompson being booked into jail last October on a Ramey warrant.
