Business and civic leaders will gather at the Prosperity Forward Reception on Friday to see new information and perspectives on Humboldt’s economy.
A new report, the Humboldt Business Confidence report, will be unveiled at the reception and includes survey results of local businesses and industry leaders.
“The report shows that exporting businesses are growing, hiring and increasing wages,” said Jacqueline Debets, Workforce Development Board Director.
Debets produced the report with Professor Hari Singh, Chair of the School of Business at Humboldt State University.
A new Economic Dashboard and the new website at RedwoodCoastProsperity.comwill also be featured. The dashboard graphically lays out valuable local employment information year-by-year, such as total employment, job creation and firm creation. It also details recent performance of key local industries.
“These are all outcomes prioritized in Humboldt County’s economic development strategy, Prosperity 2012,” said Debets.
Light refreshments will be served and the public is invited. The event will take place from 4-6 p.m. in the new Sequoia Center conference facilities at 901 Myrtle Avenue.
