Justice for Josiah Lawson vigil peaceful; but these concerns remain about investigation being unbiased

Good to see new faces organizing the Justice for Josiah Lawson August vigil. I read and watched  coverage but the most helpful was the video on North Coast News.

It was peaceful, expressing frustrations but there are still some concerns. Very disappointing that at the vigil, false information is still being circulated.
No one picked up any weapons with their bare hands. That reference was clarified in court testimony.

This  mentality that someone just needs to be "rearrested" to pacify Lawson supporters is not how justice works.

A FBI agent, now a PI, hired by the Lawson family to assist APD? How is this person independent.

If APD has new witnesses and forensic information will be available soon, when is the approximate timeline that this information will be given to the DA and any new information released to the public?

Still no responsibity from the house owner, those who hosted the party, and those who claim they were friends loved Josiah.

The one fact no one at these vigils addresses is that  had a hostile crowd not intefered that night with medical efforts to Josiah, left the scene and come forward right away and told law enforcement what they heard, witnessed and saw,  the investigation in this case would be different.

Reward has been around for a while. Four months later, new witnesses coming forward, why?

    1. According to some other media coverage in a statement by APD Chief Tom Chapman at the last Arcata City Council meeting.

  2. The vigil was well attended by students and community residents. A killer is on the loose. Please do not loose sight of that. A mother lost her 19 year old son. She and her kin will never be the same. Lets hope the culprit is found sooner than later.

    1. No one has lost sight of the loss. This case has received more media and community attention in four months than many other cases. As pointed out in the post, witnesses need to come forward. The community also deserves an unbiased investigation; not influenced by emotion or any external pressure, from anyone and facts. There was a lot of stirring up the community in the past with incorrect information.
