Third street stabbing victim under influence of drugs, damages ER quipment and is arrested for felony vandalism

EPD Captain Steve Watson gave me an update on last night's stabbing on 3rd street.

"The victim was under the influence of drugs, barely remembered anything and was reportedly very vague about the details of what happened.  We can’t even confirm yet because of this whether or not he was actually stabbed or somehow injured by some other means (it was investigated a s a possible stabbing however).   He did sustain a couple of puncture wounds to his abdomen which are not inconsistent with stab wounds, but these were not deep enough to damage any internal organs.  The victim was healthy enough after treatment at a local ER to damage equipment there. He was arrested by EPD for felony vandalism, criminal threats and resisting/obstructing officers.

The original call came in around 4:15 PM near the Saint Vincent de Paul Dining Facility but it is believed he was moved there from another location where the incident occurred.

We’re not releasing his name at this time because he might also be a victim of a crime.  "
