I covered Scott Brooks reckless rampage live. He endangered lives, damaged property include the Courthouse, has 5 cases and now taxpayers pay for his addiction treatment and detox?
Brooks has 5 open cases. CR2403771 is the EPD case and that is the lead case. A Readiness Conference was scheduled previously for 3/20/25. Defense added a motion for emergency pass or release since my last post. CR2403448, the APD case, CR2403906, CR230226 and CR2401640A are trailing.
Several deputy DAs have appeared on the case; Deputy DA Trent Timm appeared today on the case and at the last hearing. Another Deputy DA could have negotiated the treatment program resolution.
There is a 3/25 review hearing to confirm if Brooks is in the Archway Residential treatment program in Fairfield, CA. It is a drug and alcohol detox facility and provides treatment for addiction.
The 4/1 jury trial date has not been vacated yet but probably will be depending on whether Brooks ends up in the program.
3/5/25: The jury trial scheduled for 4/1 was vacated. Another continuance by defense for possible mental health diversion and letter from Archway Recovery Services provided. This could have been done at the last hearing. Instead time was wasted again. Readiness Conference rescheduled for 6/12; jury trial on 6/23.
