Felon and fugitive Joseph Larue charged with 20 felonies in a HCSO case, arrested by EPD on a burglary warrant has a lot of nerve. He has three open cases in Humboldt Superior Court.
In my update on the 3/5/25 hearing, I reported that the alleged victim wants peaceful contact and wants the protective order modified.
On 3/20, Larue's preliminary hearing was continued by defense since Ms. Andrea Sullivan is waiting on verdict in ValentinDiaz rape case. This was on the same morning, the Widmark brother trial resolved and sentencing was being scheduled. Preliminary hearing rescheduled for 4/10.
Larue said he maybe hiring private counsel. Ms. Sullivan is a private attorney and a good lawyer. If Larue had the money, why did he make taxpayers pay for private court appointed counsel?
4/10: Ms. Sullivan told Judge Cockrum that Larue is working on getting another private attorney. LaRue requests a Marsden hearing which is scheduled for 4/17. Preliminary hearing continued to 5/30 in CR2403294. Larue's two other cases CR2403293 and CR2500184 are trailing.
4/17: Larue says Marsden hearing not necessary since he is seeking private counsel which he has been saying since March. Confirmation of counsel is scheduled for 4/25. Preliminary hearing is scheduled for 5/30.
4/25: Larue could not get a private attorney. Confirmation of counsel was continued by court to 4/28 because Mr. Joe Judge will be appointed and he is not available today.
4/28: Mr Judge appointed, ; 5/30 date vacated after he requests preliminary hearing in CR2403294 be continued which is rescheduled to 6/11. CR2403293 and CR2500184 are trailing; 90 day review for extradition in those cases scheduled on 6/11.
