"The difference is exactly the amount on the CAO's wishlist"; were taxpayers mislead by CAO regarding Measure Z?

Remember the LOCO post a while back. One of those strange requests was from the CAO's office.

This afternoon, I ran into Kent Sawatsky, our local public enthusiast and citizen advocate.

He told me that he was going to bring up the fact that our Humboldt County CAO Phillip Smith Hanes had projected that the revenue of Measure Z was expected to be approximately 6 million. Mr. Sawatsky who attends the meeting of the Measure Z Advisory group, showed me some numbers.

He said during public comment, he was going to ask Mr. Smith-Hanes that our CAO was projecting the revenue to be 8 million.
