The morning session of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors started with a bit of humor as Supervisor Rex Bohn presented present Board Chair with a gift from all the Supervisors. He thanked her for "her tutelage" and progress on GPU and quipped "Thanks for ignoring me at the GPU meetings."
Supervisor Fennell got a standing ovation from all her colleagues and staff and applause from a packed chamber.
There were four retirements including Lt. George Cavinta and Building and Planning Director Kevin Hamblin. I knew George's dad, Ernie. I know his family from church and sat next to his mother today. It was emotional goodbye and lot of us had tears.

DHHS gave a presentation on their efforts to reduce homelessness and new projects to help with this issue. Supervisors raised concerns and feedback from constituents about problems. Four public comments included three landlords exoressing frustration that there was no support from DHHS for people they are trying to help.
