On Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at approximately 2:40 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a local hospital reporting a stabbing victim. When deputies arrived, they spoke with the 41 year old male victim. The victim stated he was at the Ocean Grove Lounge in Trinidad when a physical altercation occurred between other individuals at the lounge. The victim stated the altercation led outside to the front of the business, and the victim followed to watch the fight. The victim told deputies while he was watching the fight, one of the individuals in the fight was shoved into the crowd and collided with him. This is when the victim believed he was stabbed.
The deputy observed the male victim had significant stab wounds to his person. The victim was unable to provide a description of the suspect, other than he was a male adult. The victim is in stable condition.
When Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrived at the lounge, it was closed and there were no persons in the area.
