Former Humboldt County Supervisor John Woolley, Former City of Arcata Manager Randy Mendoza, Fourth District Supervisor Virginia Bass, Matthew Owen, City Cab's Jaison Chand,  Green Diamond's Gary Rynearson, Sandy Scott, family members and friends gathered at the Arcata Community Center at 12;30 today for Arcata Councilmember Mark Wheetley's formal announcement to run for the Third District Supervisor seat.

Mr. Woolley called Mr. Wheetley "a stalwart of Arcata."

"He has been a rock for the City of Arcata," said Mr. Mendoza "I hate to see him leave the Council but the County also needs him.
