The vote to postpone action was with Kim Bergel dissenting. Linda Atkins and Kim Bergel wanted to move and give staff direction tonight, Natalie Arroyo had some concerns and did not mind waiting until after mid-January to allay concerns. Marian Brady and Melinda Ciarabellini had some similar concerns and I as well as many people thought the vote was 3 to 1. So, some of us left. However, I heard the original vote and motion was then rejected and anothe another vote was taken. You can watch the entire meeting on the City of Eureka's website or Access Humboldt.
Basically the second vote was 3 to 2 with Melinda Ciarabellini and Marian Brady dissenting. Councilmember Atkins's motion was to direct staff to bring back process to revisit RFQs evey 2 years, declare last group who were invitations as unresponsive, select a committee, and a vote on this will be at a future meeting.
