Trial Readiness Conference at 2 p.m. in Courtroom 5 for one of Dues court cases. Jackie Pizzo is proescuting this case for the People. Kevin Robinson from the Public Defender's office is representing Dues. Judge Joyce Hinrich's presiding.
David Dues is the man arrested for allegedly soliciting two teenage girls visiting Humboldt to check out HSU. He is registered as a sex offender on Megan's law.
Visiting Judge Philip Schafer sat in for Judge Hinrich's today. Jonathan McCrone, instead of Kevin Robinson for Dues. Roger Rees, instead of Jackie Pizzo today for the People.
I am going to wait until I get confirmation from court minutes to post more tomorrow.
Today McCrone said of Dues, "He is bi polar" explaining why he keeps getting in trouble out on the streets. Dues changed a previous not guilty plea to guilty. Admitted guilt on all probation violations. His focus again was on getting sentenced and when he could leave jail. There are treatment programs he agreed to.
"The People have given me the most complicated case first," said Judge Schafer. This In addition to the case being handled today, Dues future dates for other cases, changes in plea and certain defense requests in court right on the spot.
